NSW’s Best Custom Home Builders

Low-interest rates and the Federal Government’s HomeBuild grant has seen demand for custom-built homes hit an all-time high, especially in NSW.

Recent data shows NSW has had a 35.4 per cent increase in total quotes by value for custom-built homes with more than 13,600 construction grants with HomeBuild already taken up in the Premier State with the average estimate of new, custom builds also increasing, from $466k in the middle of 2020 to $538K by the end of last year.

With rising demand, custom builders have had to provide variety not just in style, and design but also catering for first-home buyers to those wishing to upscale to a bigger, more modern residence or those looking to maximise return on an existing block of land with a range of options from dual occupancy, to medium density housing.

Leading property website realestate.com.au provides a useful listing of NSW’s top custom builders. Here are profiles of five of the best:

All Regal Homes have been created in a modular fashion to allow easy modification to suit any block, with the best design ideas and concepts to give you the house you want. The company also offers land and home packages in Goulburn, Murrumbateman and Gunning in various designs ranging between $500,000 to $800,000.

New South Homes

New South Homes shows that from little things, big things grow.

The new, up-and-coming company was established in 2016 after its sister company, Granny Flat Solutions, received requests from old and new customers to approve and construct houses and dual occupancies.

The family-owned and run company was originally started in 1985 by Joe Antoun who specialised in extensions, renovations and additions. In 2012, Joe was joined by his brother Michael and brother-in-law, Wally Gebrael, a building designer and approvals coordinator. From three employees, New South Homes now has 35 staff and builds more than 300 granny flats in Sydney each year. It is the only multi-award winning granny flat company.

And a range of high-end custom designed and built houses and duplexes have been added to the award-winning granny flats. The range includes single and double storey homes as well as split level residences and can be modified and transformed from a simple colour change to a complete custom redesign.

To ensure every house becomes the home clients are looking for, New South Homes has a dedicated Style Studio full of the latest colours, materials and finishes for clients to access and compile their ideal style.

As well as samples. New South Homes provides in-house interior designers to give expert design advice to put together a collection of colours, materials and finishes.
